About

Team Scout is a hardworking team of student journalists and we aim to create change in our society. We’re based at the Newsroom by the Bay program at Stanford University in sunny California, and over the course of the week, we have put together a website of our works. From feature stories to podcasts, our website includes a wide range of multimedia works that cover the #ClosetheCamps protest, a shelter for domestic violence victims in San Francisco, and the wide variety of individuals’ definition of patriotism.

Our team began by covering the #ClosetheCamps protest in Palo Alto, where we conducted interviews and took pictures of the protesters. Later, our team went to San Francisco and visited La Casa de Las Madres, a shelter for women who are victims of domestic violence. There, we discussed topics including mental health to education. On our SF trip, we also created the Patriot Project, which involved conducting many person on the street interviews about their definition of a patriot.
